About

This blog will take you across the pond and around the wheel of year as we explore festivals in Canada and the United Kingdom. The purpose of this blog is to help you connect to ideas, celebrations, and bits of culture you may not have realized are out there. We hope you enjoy!

This a collaborative work between Kathleen and Laura. They met at a Rebel Badge Club event in Birmingham, UK when they both received a Bronze Maverick award, which recognizes their dedication to community and self-improvement.

Kathleen grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada, but has also lived in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and Ottawa, Ontario. She's been in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for 6 years where she works at the University of Calgary. She loves dogs, video games, and cartoons.

Laura was born in the north east of England and grew up there before attending university in Yorkshire and spending time in Cambridge and London, where she still lives. She is interested in history, folklore and unusual customs from all around the world, and in her spare time enjoys reading and cross stitch.
